ZOE BAKERY PROJECT
REACHING THE COMMUNITY ONE LOAF AT TIME
Deuteronomy 15 vs 4“… there need be no poor people among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you.”
OVERVIEW
Our Bakery Project is one of our newest initiatives. It combines all our focus areas into one. Through this initiative we aim to further increase the level of food security by offering the Delft community with quality low cost bakery products. We intend to further utilize this project to provide the community with bakery skills. By training the community we envisage that the necessary skills obtained would make community members more employable within the Hospitality and Catering Industry. Through offering a mobile coffee/cake shop franchise opportunity, we tend to provide our learners the opportunity to own a business whereby they would be able to generate an income.
Assistance required
The HoCM has been able to achieve this by being funded by the community and some support from selected partners. With this funding model we have been limited in our capacity to reach more people living in similar communities such as Delft.
It is our vision that we create capacity to duplicate our Delft activities within every similar community within Cape Town. However, we understand that for every Not-Profit-Organization to be successful in its activities, it needs to be self-sustaining.
